MPLC Adds CNBC to its Global Rightsholder List

Business news moves fast. Financial firms rely on it every day, and they also make it available to customers, clients  and staff on screens in their business. Therefore, MPLC is proud to announce a new licensing agreement with CNBC, the world’s leading business news network.

“CNBC is a great addition to our list of rightsholders,” says MPLC CEO Rory Shedden. “This agreement helps us protect important content and gives financial services businesses a clear path to compliance.”

Licensing news content in the UK

CNBC programming appears on screens across trading floors, client suites, boardrooms, and break rooms at banks, asset managers, and investment firms throughout the UK.

Many financial firms already pay for a commercial subscription. That subscription covers delivery of the content. It does not cover the right to show that content in a business setting and this gap creates exposure for firms across the industry.

Resolve copyright exposure

With CNBC now part of the MPLC Blanket Licence, financial services businesses can resolve that exposure with a single annual licence. One licence covers every location, from the trading floor to the reception desk.

The agreement covers the UK, Ireland, and a wide range of territories across Europe, the Americas, and Asia Pacific. Programmes covered include CNBC Meets, American Greed, and Squawk Box Europe.

If your company shows CNBC or other broadcast content in the workplace, now is the time to check your coverage. Call today and see how MPLC can help.
