Forecourt Trade Magazine’s Legal Doctor explains why retailers need to licence TV’s used in store.

Forecourt Trader magazine, the trade journal for the automotive retail industry, has published an article by their “Legal Doctor”; Robert Botkai explaining which licences retailers need when they play music or television programmes in store.

In the article he discusses the positive effects that TV and music in store can have, including boosting sales, enhancing a friendly atmosphere and creating a good work environment for staff.

He explains that to play music and show TV programmes in store you need to consider copyright licensing and goes into detail to explain how an MPLC licence can and should be used.
